Our Story


Midnight Harvest is a five piece Rock N Roll band that performs for all occasions original and cover songs from the 50’s to the present. We will take you on a journey of great memories through our songs. Our two guitars, Key Boards bass, drums and three part harmonies roll through your soul with  true conviction of era and meaning of the song.
Dynamic volume levels with a cutting edge that separates us from the rest. 


Ross Solis: Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar;

  Ross has been playing guitar and singing for over 20 years. He grew up listening to all genres of music, blues, soul and the rock N roll from the 50’s to the present. Over the years Ross has performed at all types of venues from clubs, fair concerts, wineries and special events. His passion for performing is unmatched in the band community. His stage presents will keep you on the edge of your seat or keep you on the dance floor.  


Roy Schmall: Keyboards and Back Up Vocals;

Roy has been a professional musician in the bay area most of his life. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s Roy played and toured with Big Brother and the Holding Company w/Kathi McDonald and Snooky Flowers. During this time Roy played the Fillmore, The Avalon, and the Family Dog sharing the stage and playing with many legendary artists. In the late 1970’s, Roy co-founded the amazing funk and reggae band “Smoke” which opened for such notables as Peter Tosh, James Brown, Sly Stone, Rick James, Dr. John, and Burning Spear. Smoke Inc made B.A.M. magazine’s top ten independent release list. Roy also played on many recordings over the years including Bill Cutler’s 2008 release “Crossing the Line” which features a who’s-who of bay area musicians including Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Mark Karan, Jorma Kaukonen, Matthew Kelly, David Nelson, Barry Sless, and Dave Torbert.
 

Robin Zickel: Drums;

Recording artist for Higher Octave Music,recorded and co-produced two albums for Crystal wind Consort; Inner Traveler and Cafe Tropique. He was in the pit orchestra for the Sonoma County produced play Always - Patsy Cline performing in over 60 sold out shows with three theater companies culminating with a performance at the Luther Burbank Center of the Arts to an audience of over 1500 people. 

 

Michael White: Bass and Back Up Vocals;

Former bass player of the Doobie Brothers. 1978 through 1982.

 
Mark Banning: Lead Guitar and Vocals;
 
Mark Banning has been playing guitar all of his life. At age 9, he started getting formal guitar instruction.  Growing up in Los Angeles, California, he played his first show with a band at age 10.  When he was 13, he made a record in North Hollywood, then a year later, he recorded another one at RCA Studio B ("Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones was recorded there 3 years earlier.) 
After high school, he started playing 6 nights a week in night clubs in the LA area for several years.  Since then, Mark has released 4 albums under his own name (written, performed all instruments, recorded, produced & mastered) and has played on albums by many others.  Mark has played with Captain Beefhart, Ritchie Blackmore (from Deep Purple), The Unauthorized Rolling Stones and hundreds of other bands. Mark's bands have shared the stage with many artists - The Beach Boys, Credence Clearwater Revisited, Heart, George Thorogood, Train, Elton John, Molly Hatchet, Tommy Castro and many others.
    Mark's live performances wow the audience with his charismatic command of the guitar and showmanship reminiscent of the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page & Eric Clapton.
